Universal Synthesizer Interface + Missing Music
The result of several years of research, experimentation and creation, Universal Synthesizer Interface is Kristen’s media archaeological project that explores a largely unknown era of intelligent and algorithmic music software from the mid 1980’s into the early 1990’s.
Suren’s Missing Music project catalogs experimental sound software starting in the late 1990’s into the early 2000’s. An ongoing online resource for archival vintage software, as well as an audio-visual performance featuring computers authentic to this era.
Both of our projects focus on the sonic esthetic of personal computer music history, and showcase the visual language from a time which is markedly different from music making today.
